Rashmi’s 25th Wedding Anniversary at the Hilton

19 06 2010

Me and Em had two jobs today – Tik’s wedding at Paresa and Rashmi’s Anniversary Party at the Hilton. After Em finished Tik’s sisters’  hair at Paresa, she jumped in a taxi to the Hilton Arcadia in Karon to start Rashmi and her daughter who were over from Dubai with a lot of their family, to celebrate Rashmi’s 25th Wedding Anniversary.

Rashmi and her daughter were wearing gorgeous traditional Indian sarees – Rashmi had a beautiful purple and gold one and her daughter had a vibrant saree with turqouise, fuschia and yellow colours – wow!!

Em did her daughter’s hair neat and in side ponytail with loose curls and Rashmi’s hair half up, half down, with a bit of height. Rashmi’s make up was quite natural but with defined eyes and gold/bronzey eye tones.

I then arrived after the renewal ceremony to do a second look for Rashmi – we let the rest of her hair down and gave her eyes a more smokey, night time look, to complement her lovely navy blue dress she was changing in to.

Djana’s Buddhist Monk Wedding

18 06 2010

Lovely Bride Djana had a Traditional Buddhist Wedding Ceremony today very early in the morning!!

I left at about 5.30am and counted at least 17 monks on the way to her house :)

She wanted quite natural hair and make up which really complemented the dress she was wearing. Her and her husband-to-be were really lovely and I grabbed a few pics of them before they went off.

It was a really chilled out session at that time in the morning. I drove home, did a few emails then went to meet Gina for our photo shoot in the afternoon.

Antonette’s Wedding at Sri Panwa

12 06 2010

We had a fab wedding today at the stunning Sri Panwa (sripanwa.com) for the lovely Antonette who had the even lovelier girls, Anna and Natalie at Take Us To Thailand (takeustothailand.com) plan, co-ordinate and generally perfect her wedding day.

She wanted quite a simple up do – quite soft at the front with some curls lightly placed at the back, leaving enough room for her veil and beautiful hair pieces, which looked really stunning.

We wanted to keep the make up simple as well, bringing out her eyes with smokey eye make up and natural blusher and lips.

Em took care of the bridesmaids’ and Mum’s hair- the bridesmaids had gorgeous dark shimmery grey dresses and stunning high shoes.

The setting at Sri Panwa really is beautiful

Bundarika Wedding Shoot

8 06 2010

Gina and I (ginasmithphotography.com) had a promotional photo shoot today for Bundarika Resort (bundarika.com) which is situated in the northwest of Phuket, on a beautiful and remote bay called Layan Beach.

It was such a quiet and beautiful  part of the island, really intimate and romantic – perfect for a wedding photo shoot!

We had Emma and Dong modelling for us as bride and groom and did three shots – a Thai style wedding, a Western wedding in the chapel up on a hill over looking the bay, and a Western wedding on the beach – it was such a gorgeous setting for everything :)

We hired Traditional Thai style wedding attire, jewellery and accessories from Sukko Spa (sukkospa.com) which were absolutely breathtaking! Emma was like a kid in a candy store trying on all the dresses!

I created Emma’s hair design and did her make up here at home before we left – she has quite short hair so I created a hair piece for her similar to that worn by Sarah Jessica Parker at the 2010 Oscars.

It looked fantastic and like she’d grown about a foot of hair overnight!

For her make up, I did a really natural golden brown make up to try and tie in the different dresses for the day, and just simple blusher and lip gloss.

The staff at Bundarika were really accommodating and arranged a villa for us to set up in and make the changes.

Super star Gina took some stunning pictures as always – I’ve just uploaded a simple few here…xxx

Lovely Sian at Thavorn Beach Resort and Spa

20 05 2010

Sian and her amazing PINK shoes! WOW!

Me and Em had a great day with Sian and her fab bridesmaids – Holly, Ally, Laura and Sarah.

Sian had the most stunning diamante tiara head piece which we wanted to incorporate into the design of her hair. So I created some padding to create some height and wove the tiara in. The back of Sian’s hair was a loose but fairly structured bun with some placed buns and curls.

We did sultry smokey eye make up and defined her lovely eyes before helping her get into her FAB dress which made her look just like a princess :)

The girls had stunning bridesmaid dresses – they were a gorgeous purple colour which contrasted amazingly with Sian’s AMAZING shoes :)

We were lucky enough to work with Gina (ginasmithphotography.com) again – yay! Gina took the girls out to get some shots in the beautiful gardens of the Resort, and captured everyone beautifully at the ceremony, and the reception.

Ashley and the Girls (and Boys) at Katathani!

12 05 2010

We love Ashley and Mark!!

We had such a fun wedding day with these guys from Perth!! Ash had 3 beautiful bridesmaids – Sheree, Kristy and Katie who were all lovely and we had such a laugh with :) [sorry for all the rollers Kristy!!]

The girls had beautiful chocolatey brown bridesmaid dresses so I used gold, bronzey tones in their eye make up, and Emma did a beautiful side bun with curls and a few pearls in the girls’ hair which went really well with the dresses :)

The back of Ashley’s dress was absolutely stunning so we did an up do with scrunched up curls in a roll with bits of weaving at the side and a gorgeous flower piece.

For the make up, we did a subtle gold with more matte natural brown earth tones which really made Ashley’s eye pop – she looked absolutely stunning!!

We stayed and did some touch ups for the girls after the ceremony on the beach at Katathani Resort and took some pictures on the beach at sunset with them afterwards :) Ashley and Mark were so sweet and offered us a sneaky cocktail at their drinks reception, which we couldn’t refuse, as we stayed and had a chat with them and then watched the happy couple, bridesmaids and groomsmen drive off to the reception in state of the art buggy carts!

Thanks for such a wonderful fun day guys and Ashley and Mark we can’t wait to see you back here sooooon!!xxx

Lovely Hayley’s Wedding at Merlin Beach

6 05 2010

Congrats Hayley – we had such a lovely day with you and your wonderful bridesmaid Nerida today :) we were so happy the rain held off for your ceremony.

Hayley had amazing long hair which I straightened and then put in rollers to set.

Nerida had beautiful long black hair which Emma curled and put up into a low up do. Nerida was wearing a beautiful canary yellow dress so I used some gold, a slight pearlescent white and soft brown tones for her make up which looked stunning.

Hayley had a gorgeous feathery head piece which we worked into her hair design of a low bun with soft rolled curls. We did some soft make up to really bring out her eyes and the colour of her dress – she looked beautiful!!

We then set and curled the little flower girl’s hair, and just about had time to fit in Hayley’s Mum’s hair and make up, who wore a fantastic electric blue dress.

Hayley had some pictures taken in the room before going down to the beach but disaster struck with Nerida’s dress as part of the zip came apart!! Lucky I was on hand with some needle and thread to sew her back into it!! Phew!!

You could see the beach set up from Hayley’s room so once we had packed up, we could just see her start to walk down the aisle :) xxx

Beautiful Abby’s Wedding at Outrigger Resort

5 05 2010

We had a beautiful wedding today at the Outrigger Resort in Laguna with the lovely Abby who is from Oz but living in London.

Abby used to be a model so was super tall and had beautiful long red hair :) her dress was absolutely stunning – lace, very vintage and 1920s inspired and she had a gorgeous head piece we were going to work into her hair design.

Abby had 4 bridesmaids who all had really different hair – both colour and length so we did Emma created 4 different designs.

They were all really beautiful girls so we could do some quite bold make up to bring out the colours of their dresses which were a pretty grey-blue.

It was a really lovely girly day – the villas at Outrigger are really great and it was really nice for Abby to have all the girls around her as she got ready.

Thanks so much for being so beautiful and lovely girls – we got some gorgeous pictures and you all looked amazing :)

Best of luck Abby and Derron and massive congratulations :) xxx

Marilyn’s Post-Wedding Party at Jivana Villas

1 05 2010

Me and Em were lucky enough to work up at Jivana Villas on Naitai Beach at Phang Nga today. We were also working with Jeanette at Luxury Events Phuket (luxuryeventsphuket.com). We were invited to pop our heads round so had a quick chat with her as she was whizzing round making sure everything was beautiful and perfect for the 150 guests Marilyn had invited from Singapore, and all over.

DJing was Mr Jay Leshark, a pleasure seeing him also, as always :)

Marilyn and her husband were having a big celebration for their wedding in Thailand as more of a half way point for many people that couldn’t make their wedding in Singapore.

Em and I had Marilyn, her best friend and sister in law’s hair and make up to do. Marilyn wanted her hair half up half down, to contrast how she had it up for her wedding, and natural looking make up to complement the dress she was wearing.

Her best friend had a fabulous Karen Millen dress to wear and Emma created an up do for her in a semi pony tail with some cascading curls. Her sister in law wanted to look quite chic but still modern so Emma created a small bouffant/chignon style at the back.

As I took Marilyn’s hair out, we broke down some of the curls and pinned back enough to create a really soft but sophisticated look. Her skin was flawless so made my job very easy :) natural looking make up with soft gold and brown tones and fake eyelashes really made her eyes stand out.

The party was at the villa next door to Marilyn’s and was laid out absolutely beautifully with a beach side bar, white round tables and chairs, overhead lanterns and lights illuminated the stunning setting perfectly.

Many Congrats guys :) xxx

Raquel’s Spanish Veil and Wedding at Woraburi Resort

24 04 2010

Raquel and John were travelling the world together for a year when at the beginning of their trip he asked her to marry him :) so because she had family in Spain, they spent some time there and she had a fabulous veil and dress made which were just stunning!

We met Raquel and John here in Phuket on the final leg of their trip for her make up and hair trial in Karon.

We started her wedding day with a morning of pampering for her and her bridesmaids, manicures and pedicures, before starting on the hair prep and set for her, her bridesmaids, Mum and Mum in Law.

We created individual hair designs for the bridesmaids as they had hair that varied in length, colour and cut so we wanted to design styles that all worked really well for them personally.

Raquel had her hair curled and pinned into an updo. I brought out her beautiful Spanish features and skin tone with her make up and gave her Mum a smokey eye and a fantastic red lip to go with her red dress which looked beautiful on her.

She looked absolutely stunning in her dress, and the veil was just incredible!

Congratulations to you and John my lovely, we look forward to hearing from you soon :) xxx
